Aromasin

Aromasin contains exemestane, a steroidal aromatase inhibitor that reduces estrogen production in the body. It is primarily used in the management of hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women.

Exemestane works by irreversibly inhibiting the aromatase enzyme, which is responsible for converting certain androgens into estrogen. Lowering estrogen levels can help slow or reduce the growth of estrogen-dependent breast cancer cells.

Aromasin should not be used during pregnancy or by individuals for whom estrogen suppression is medically inappropriate.
