Merional HMG 150 IU

Merional HMG 150 IU is a gonadotropin preparation containing human menopausal gonadotropin (HMG), also known as menotropins. It provides follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) activity to stimulate reproductive function.

In women, Merional may be used to stimulate the development of ovarian follicles as part of fertility treatment and assisted reproductive techniques. In appropriately selected men, gonadotropin therapy may be used to stimulate testicular function and support sperm production.

Medical Uses

Merional HMG may be prescribed to stimulate ovarian follicular development in women undergoing fertility treatment. It may also be used in selected men with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism to stimulate testicular activity and support spermatogenesis.

Safety Information

In women, HMG treatment can cause ovarian enlargement and ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), which can occasionally become serious. It can also increase the possibility of multiple pregnancy.
